Sure thing, Senator McCarthy. Please don't pigeonhole people just because
they have an AOL account. I'm not on aol by choice, but rather by
necessity. But that doesn't mean I don't have 1000 hrs of live tapes or
that my tapes suck or that I'm going to rip you off. It's really
irritating to hear people talk about AOL like you have to pass some kind
of asshole test to get an account there...
jb, who remebers the days when "edu" people were the
target-assholes-of-choice (anyone remember the big DICK/DACK controversy a
couple years ago?). Of course, I was still in college then...

Alright...its been too long since I have been up to my navel in trades.
So...I have the infamous LSD, all of fall tour except; 10.7.12.16
11.14.22.28 and 12.2.9.10. I would like to find HQ low-gn
copies. I am
interested ONLY in HOT tapes...life is too short to waste on pisspoor
copies of shows. Anyways, I am interested in those shows listed above, and
any real crisp spring/summer (esp. 7/5/94). Most of my shows are A+ 1st gens.
LSD is an A 2nd gen (same as seed for the tree). Let me know...Brian Daignault.
Oh yeah...I just found the DwD video on one of my videos...pretty neat. I
only saw it once before. Anyone know who the girl in the jester hat is? My
guess would be Shelly, but since I have never seen her, I am obviously lacking
anything resembling an actual clue. Waiting for summer dates so I can blow
lots of cash on airfare to COLORADO (I hope?).

Somehow I ended up with two copies of the 94 halloween
show. The first newbie (10 tapes or less) who can answer the
following question correctly and is willing to send blanks will
recieve this show. When was the 1st time Guelah Papyrus was
played and where was it played? Good luck and please do not
respond after 6:00 pm EST on thurs the 16th.

I'm trying to get HQ copies of the six shows I've seen in Florida (of course,
I'll take shows I haven't seen as well). If anyone has first or second gener-
tion copies of the following shows, I would very much appreciate a response.
I'm looking for the following (* indicates shows of most importance to me):
2/26* and 8/2/93* The Ritz, Tampa, 4/29/94 Boatyard Village, Clearwater, 4/30/
94 The Edge, Orlando, 10/20 (i think it's 20) Mahaffey Theater, St. Pete**,

|: Animal, and Mike has been likened to Sam the Eagle. I think it would be funny
|: if phish had a show and they all came out in the costumes of the Muppet they
|: each resemble. Or if they ever came out with a video (i mean another one - i
|: haven't seen Down With Disease yet) to wear Muppet costumes while they play
|: their instruments. Uh huh huh - that'd be cool.
|Yeah, and what if they came out with Mikes > Muppet Theme Song (w/ GCH) >
|Animal Drum Solo > Crimes of the Mind (DOL comes on stage dressed as the
|Swedish chef) > Simple (The lyrics are changed to "and we've got

Time out... If you are gonna do the Muppets you NEED the GCH for the
last note before they get off the stage has got to be a loud Tenor Sax
hitting the low note. Of course, they would have to be dressed up too. Not
to mention that Mimi Fishman can come out and solo as Jen.
SET II They all jazz it up, its Page's night... as he dresses up
like Charlie Brown!!! They play Linus and Lucy, jammin' Trey is Snoopy.
Fishman can be Peppermint Patty. Mike... gee... that is tough... how
about Linus, he can hang a blue blanky from his bass? All night, Trey can
try to steal it away.
The Henrietta Solo in a mini skit... The TEACHER. "WAh.. WAh..
WAh...Wah.Wa.wah.WAh.wah.WAAH! Yes maam." Again the GCH or ToP are on
stage all dressed as Woodstocks jammin' the rest of the night away!!!
It would be the most kickin' Red Barron jam EEEEVVVVERRRRR!!! ((SIGH))
On to more pertainent news...
It would be real kind of all those people out there (you know who
you are) to get your tapes sent to me. Especially those who were sent tapes
in December. On another side of things...
Now that there is definitely a Summer tour... wouldn't it be rather
fine to get some outdoor venues!!! Every time I have seen em (summer) its
been indoors, and the weather outside has been perfect! What are the
"acoustically correct" outdoor theatres that you could see Phish play at?

Musical slacking? Have you ever played an instrument before? If so, there's
absolutely
no way you would ever consider making a statement like you just made. Sample
may seem like slacking to you, but beleive me, it is far from that. The guitar
solo in
Sample is simply one of the 5 best guitar solos of all time (imho).
and Derivative!?? Isn't all music derivative? What makes DwD any more
Derivative than
say Harry Hood? Sure, Sample may be less musically complicated than Harry, but
... And please, don't ever call what Phish does as "classic rock" The three
songs
you mentioned above are *far* from classic rock. I'll have sex with Cindy
Crawford more often
than Phish will get played on classic radio stations =)

Look up stereotype in the dictionary, will you. I'm stratching my head
"bemusedly" right now
trying to figure out why you think you are a "better fan" because you enjoy
songs like Reba and YEM. Why are you so worried about what other people listen
to anyway? As long
as Phish plays music you enjoy, does it really matter that a certain proportion
of people will
only listen to a subset of songs? This "snobbishness" of some Phish fans is
starting to get
annoying. fyi. I've been a fan since 90 and I've seen this all before (remember
the Rift
discussions!) anyway, let's all settle down, put in our favorite tune (be it
Sample or DwD or Antelope) and chill ....

For the first bit of the jam before Bowie at Prov, my friend and I thought
for just a tiny little second or two or three, that they were getting ready to
do "Eminence Front" by The Who, which I think would be wonderful, but they
certainly didn't give me time to be let down ;-) ... that version, IMHO, was
awe-inspiring.
